At Sunny Blue Immigration Services, we provide different in country services ranging from permanent resident card renewal to restoration of status and bridging work permit.Permanent Card Renewal (PR)Permanent Resident Card is issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada as a valid identity document for persons travelling abroad and returning to Canada. The PR card expires after 5 years and requires renewal afterwards through an application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada. During renewal certain information’s such as travel history, address, and employment history over the past 5 years are required to enable the immigration officer reviewing your application determine whether you meet the residency obligations.
Restoration of temporary resident status: If a temporary resident has lost their status or let their authorization to work or study expire, they may apply to restore that status in accordance with section 182 of Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulation (IRPR). An applicant can only restore an authorization that they held immediately prior to the restoration application. Notably, section R182 is applicable if the temporary resident: · has not been out of status for more than 90 consecutive days· has not failed to comply with conditions other than paragraph R185(a), any of sub-paragraphs R185(b)(i) to (iii) or paragraph R185(c)· is not subject of a declaration under subsection A22.1(1)Eligibility requirements for restoration of status includes the applicant ability to meet the following requirement:
- apply within 90 days of having lost their status
- meet the initial requirements for their stay
- remain in Canada until a decision is made
- have not failed to comply with any condition imposed automatically by regulation [R183] or by an officer [R185].
Bridging the work permit: This is a program that permits individuals to work while waiting for their permanent resident application to be finalized. This program was announced on December 15, 2012, by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Eligibility to this significant program include:
- Federal Skilled Worker Applicants
- Canadian Experience Class Applicants
- Federal Skilled Trades Program Applicants
- Provincial Nominees
While the criteria for assessment are:
- You have made an application for open work permit
- You are currently in Canada
- You have received a positive decision on your permanent resident application under Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trade Program or Federal Skilled Worker,
- You have a valid temporary work permit that will expire within four months
